Hi again,

Here's the rest of the photo's

The archway that Maria Von Trapp and the VT kids ran through in the movie. (I didn't run or walk, I just stood at one end and took the photo. Holidays are not for running around)

The old shopping quarter - that seemed to have a lot of high end shops eg. Prada Louis Vitton, Rolex etc. The Austrian's must have lots of money. There were also lots of tee-shirts for sale saying  'There are no kangaroos in Austria'. Apparently they are always mistaken for being Australians.

The convent where the real Maria Von Trapp worked as a school teacher. Pulic cannot go in here.

Murals on Church Building

Borono - an island of Venice

This old man just wouldn't get out of the shot. I kept yelling at him to hurry up but in the end I just had to take the photo with him in it.

Hi everyone,

Wow, only a few more sleeps till Christmas. I hope all your shopping and planning is going well. I've been back in the UK for about a week now and it's getting colder. In the past 6 weeks I've been rained on in Paris, found the mountains alive with the sound of music in Sultzburg, saluted King Wensenslas (not spelt rite) in Prague, followed convention in Geneva, almost drowned in Venice's Grand Canal, been riden over in Amsterdam and stampeded by crowds at the Christmas Markets in Brugge. All in all a good trip I'd say. Here are a few pics

An old graveyard in the jewish quarter that has over 12,000 graves

Saw this flyer in the lift of my hotel - you might need to zoom in - advertising a 'life pianist'. Not quite sure what a 'non life pianist' is.

There are some fabulous old buildings in NY and they all have external fire escapes.

Central Park horse and buggy rides

Empire State Building (I didn't go to the top)

Just down from Times Square and round the corner from where I stayed.

I'm off to France & rest of Europe on Monday so won't have a chance to put more photos up before I go. Will be back in UK mid December. Will have lots more to put up then. While in the US I also went to Boston, Washington and Pennsylvania (Lancaster to be precise). Bye for now.

New York - Times Square

This next photo is at 9pm Sunday night

The UN were in town this day. Black cars were everywhere and apparently allowed to park anywhere. Sorry about the focus.

Not sure what the law is on using a mobile phone while riding a bike round New York. The building in the next photo is nick named the Iron building because it is shaped like an Iron. It's really quite an interesting building to see.

This bull is currently under police guard. I think it tried to run away again. It's near Wall Street and apparently people come from everywhere to pat it for good luck. The tour guide wasn't sure why it was fenced off but there were some people across the street crying because they couldn't touch it.
